According to reports, the London Underground will have to find up to 70 hours to squeeze into a full 24 hours. The improved service will mean some trains will have to stretch it a little, to find that 70-hour service every weekend.

The new extended hour service will commence from September 2015.

However, unions are not happy about the new plans, finding a 40-hour service to fit within the 24-hour period is going to be tough; the weekend 70-hour service is going to be impossible, claim reports.

A brand new shiny map, showing parts of the London Underground with the weekend 60 and 70-hour service, within the 24-hour period:

  • Central line trains running a 50-hour service in 24 hours
  • Jubilee line the full 70-hour service will be squeezed into 24 hours
  • Northern line the 40-hour service will occur now and again, if you are lucky
  • Victoria line 60-hour service will hopefully happen

The weekend service, we will see the new 70- hour service will start at the beginning of the 24-hour period just before the weekend on all lines.
